Bullying Hot Line

Anonymous Bullying Hotline

Unfortunately in school settings, bullying may occur. Although our Principals and Staff have things in place that encourages students to come to them with situations, there still may be times when a student or family is uncomfortable approaching someone to discuss the matter.

If there is a time that you or your child feels they are being bullied and you are not comfortable contacting your child's school, I want to make you aware that Avon Lake City Schools does have an Anonymous Bullying Hotline in place. A student or parent may call: 440 930-8345 and leave an anonymous message. The calls will go to Central Office and then will be directed to the administrators of the appropriate buildings.

Please know that the staff and myself are here to support you and your child. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Robert Scott
Superintendent

Flyer Connection

In the past, Avon Lake City Schools has permitted non-profit organizations to distribute flyers to our families by way of hard copies sent home with the students.

Due to the high volume of requests that we receive on a daily basis from various organizations within our  community  to distribute information to students, Avon Lake City Schools will be ‘going green’ and utilizing our website  to publicize the numerous flyers that we receive.  This transition will take effect immediately.

Avon Lake City Schools District Office has created a link of our website, entitled “Flyer Connection” which will now be the only means for non-profit organizations to advertise their various events.   We will no longer be sending  paper copies of flyers, announcements, registration information, etc,  home with the students.

In order to obtain permission to promote these electronic flyers, the method will still remain the same as in the past.   An electronic version in PDF format of the flyer must be sent to Julie.appleton@avonlakecityschools.org  and approved by Mr. Bob Scott, Superintendent, Avon Lake City Schools.  The flyer will then be posted on our school website under the link named                      “Flyer Connection”.   Flyers will only be posted on Wednesdays.  As well, there is a link on the Home Page of each building that allows you to sign up to be notified each time the Web Site is updated.

Thank you in advance for your participation in our new method of publication.   We are excited about the initialization of our new “Flyer Connection”.
