Think Outside the Box!


*Respect is a two way street.  Students deserve to be respected by both their teachers and their peers.  When respect is given, Respect will be given in return.

* People are more apt to grow in ability if the end result is clearly defined and the means by which the result is obtained explained clearly and clearly justified.

* Understanding oneself as a learner empowers one to reach the end result in a far more direct way.

*Quality is far more important than quantity.  By doing ones best the first time, one can avoid having to repeat the proceedure multiple times.

*Students have the right to ask questions and respectfully challenge the reason behind what they are asked to do.

*Great things come from a lot of working and reworking.  A painter does not create a masterpiece without many touch ups and a masterpiece a student's work will not be without repeated efforts at improvement.

*Teachers are not mind readers, so students need to advocate for themselves.  This means it is the responsibility of each student to ask for assistance should the problem be organization, lack of understanding, conflicts with peers, or a misunderstanding with their teacher.

*Teachers owe students their dignity therefore students are encouraged to talk to their teacher about their concerns without worrying that they will be judged based on them.

*It takes a triangle of communication between child, teacher, and parent to achieve maximum success in school.

*Chocolate is the way to this teacher's heart.  It won't buy a grade, but will guarantee a special smile...tee hee!
